Land Acknowledgement

Aerophone Recordings operates in Tkaronto, on land that is the territory of the Anishinaabeg nation, covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and other Indigenous peoples in the past and continually, including the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.

This land is subject to the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement that covers the Great Lakes region that has been in place for many thousands of years.  We are grateful and honoured to participate in this Covenant while recognizing justice is always compromised on stolen land.  Continuous learning is necessary to see through colonial structures to the actual nature of this land and asks us to act on this knowledge.

We make this living acknowledgement in solidarity with Indigenous people, the struggle for sovereignty and “to protect the land, water and sky”.[idlenomore.ca]
